Making Time for Your Health: What You Prioritize, You Can Afford.
Updated: Dec 12, 2019
Your money is valuable. You would never throw money out the window or spend it on things you didn't want so the question you have to ask yourself is: What do you want? Do you want to maintain your health? Do you want to sleep better? Do you want to have more energy? Do you want to have less headaches or get rid of other aches and pains? The list of health concerns we hear in our office could go on and on but the one thing they all have in common is they want to feel BETTER. In order to feel better, you have to become healthier and prioritize your health. Doing nothing and ignoring the problem is only going to make it worse. You have to take action and do something for yourself.
Affordability of chiropractic care is based on your priorities. If your health is your priority, it is affordable. Think about this: outside of your necessities (food, water, shelter) what do you prioritize? How many pairs of shoes or handbags do you own? How much did you pay for your golf clubs? What kind of car do you drive? Do you get a coffee every morning on your way to work? You are willing to spend money on them because you WANT them and prioritize them and that is not a bad thing! We aren't saying "don't have the things you want." We are saying "prioritizing your health and WANTING to be healthy go hand in hand." By making your health a priority and wanting to be healthy, you can make regular care affordable.
You only get one brain, one spine, one nervous system; the better you take care of them, the more efficiently they are going to work to ensure you live a healthy, symptom-free life. If you neglect your health until there is a more serious problem, that is when care becomes expensive, necessary and more time consuming. Even things you may see as minor- waking up in the middle of the night, headaches, neck aches- probably affect your daily life. If you are tired because you didn't sleep well, what are the chances you are performing your best at work? If you have a headache, what are the chances you will go to the gym that day? Aches and pains can even prevent you from spending quality time with friends and family. Think about the small things that hold you back in your daily routine. Now think about how that could change if you prioritize your health.
If time is a factor in your prioritization for regular care, consider this: outside of the initial exam, a typical chiropractic appointment lasts between 10-15 minutes. This means, you could stop in on your lunch, or after work. In addition, appointments to maintain your health can be as frequent as once a week, but as infrequent as once per month. Can you find 15 minutes once per week, once every two weeks, or once a month to maintain and improve your health? We all have busy schedules but making time for yourself and your health needs to be a priority. For your body to be able to handle all of the day-to-day stress you face, (work, parenting, relationships, school, sports, etc) maintaining a healthy routine of regular chiropractic care is important. By making time for a visit to the chiropractor once or twice a month, you can help prevent injury and other symptoms from disrupting your daily activities.
While most appointments are 15 minutes or less, our office does require an initial exam where Dr. Drew does a thorough exam to help him determine how well your brain is functioning and to ensure chiropractic is right for you. Our approach is a comprehensive approach to your care because the brain and nervous system control all functions of your body. By looking at the different aspects of how well the brain is functioning, Dr. Drew can better address what is not working efficiently and causing the symptoms you are having. Even if you are feeling well and aren't in pain, this approach helps Dr. Drew know the best areas of the brain to focus on to ensure you remain feeling well. Rest assured, your initial exam and doctor's report will be your longest appointment in the office, and, by taking the time for this visit, you are taking the first step towards health and taking control of your life.
