We Accept Medicare

Chiropractic care is covered under Medicare with certain restrictions.   At Midwest Chiropractic Neurology we accept Medicare assignment within the Medicare allowable guidelines.  Below is an outline of how Medicare works and how Midwest Chiropractic Neurology works with your Medicare coverage to give you the maximum allowable benefits.

Initial Visit and X-Rays

Medicare requires an initial examination in order to establish a diagnosis. However, Medicare does not pay for either the chiropractic examination or x-rays needed to start care.  Because these are considered “uncovered services” and because most secondary insurances follow Medicare guidelines, secondary insurance will usually NOT pay for these needed initial procedures.

Medicare Covered Services

Medicare will typically pay for active treatment chiropractic care, which is usually between 20-25 visits per year (2020). In our office, a typical co-payment for a Medicare chiropractic adjustment visits is $8.09 (2020)  however, the co-payment can vary, or may be entirely covered by a secondary insurance.

Services Not Covered By Insurance

Midwest Chiropractic Neurology does offer some services related to functional neurology that are not covered by Medicare or other insurances, however pricing at MCN is transparent and patients will always be made aware of services that are not covered by insurance.
